Financial Analysis
This document provides calculated estimates based on public Australian Taxation Office (ATO) guidelines and typical business parameters for the 2024-2026 financial years. AusCalc provides these models for strategic planning purposes only. These figures do not constitute personal financial, legal, or professional tax advice. Actual results depend on individual tax structure, deductions, and legislation changes. We mandate that you verify these projections with a Register Tax Agent or Financial Advisor before executing business strategies.
Every invoice shows its GST, so your BAS is easier to add up.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When are BAS due dates for 2026-27?
Standard quarterly BAS due dates are: Q1 (July-September) due 28 October 2026; Q2 (October-December) due 28 February 2027; Q3 (January-March) due 28 April 2027; Q4 (April-June) due 28 July 2027. If you lodge online you may be eligible for an extra 2 weeks, and a registered tax or BAS agent may get you extra time. Q2 gets no later date because its due date already includes a one-month extension. Your own due date is shown on your BAS.
How much should I set aside each quarter for my BAS?
Set aside the net GST you collect (1/11th of GST-inclusive sales minus 1/11th of GST-inclusive business purchases) plus a quarter of your expected annual income tax. For many sole traders this lands between 20% and 35% of gross revenue. Calculate your own percentage rather than guessing.
What happens if I lodge my BAS late?
The ATO can apply a failure-to-lodge penalty (one penalty unit per 28 days late, up to five units, for small entities) plus general interest charge on unpaid amounts. If you cannot pay, lodge on time anyway and arrange a payment plan. Lodging late is what triggers penalties.
Do I need to lodge a BAS if I'm not registered for GST?
No. BAS is for GST-registered businesses. However, you may still receive PAYG instalment notices, which you pay quarterly using the same due dates. Once your turnover passes $75,000 you must register for GST and start lodging BAS.
Can a BAS agent get me more time?
It can. The ATO says you may get extra time if you lodge through a registered tax or BAS agent, and you may be eligible for an extra 2 weeks if you lodge online. Neither applies to Q2, whose 28 February due date already includes a one-month extension. The due date that applies to you is shown on your BAS.
