Critical Notice

The information provided by AusCalc is for estimation and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice.

1. No Professional Advice

Our calculators and content are designed to provide automated, general estimates based on current Australian Taxation Office (ATO) guidelines. Estimates generated by AusCalc are for general informational and educational purposes only, and do not constitute personal financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. AusCalc is not a registered tax agent, certified public accountant, or registered financial adviser.

2. Simplified Estimator Models & Assumptions

While we strive to keep our logic updated for the 2026-27 financial year, Australian taxation, mortgage guidelines, and super rules are complex and subject to change. Our calculators are general in nature and may not cover every personal, corporate, or niche circumstance.

Uncovered Circumstances & Variables

  • Tax Offsets: Our tools may not factor in all personal tax offsets (LITO, SAPTO, Zone offsets).
  • Medicare Levy Surcharge (MLS): We apply the 2.0% Medicare Levy including the low-income reduction for singles (nil below $28,011, phasing in to $35,013). We do not calculate the additional 1.0-1.5% MLS for high earners without private hospital cover, and we do not apply the separate family or seniors and pensioners thresholds, because the calculators do not ask about dependants or pension status.
  • Non-Resident Tax Rates: Calculations default to Australian resident rates and are not designed for non-residents, foreign income, or Working Holiday Maker visa holders.
  • HELP/HECS Indexation: Complex HELP debt indexation, voluntary contribution caps, or specific employer super arrangements are calculated using uniform averages.

3. Mandatory Professional Consultation

Because individual circumstances always produce different tax obligations, you must confirm all calculations, figures, and strategies with a certified registered tax agent or qualified financial professional before lodging any paperwork with the ATO or entering into any legally binding financial arrangements. AusCalc is not liable for errors, omissions, or actions taken in reliance on these tools.

4. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall AusCalc be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our calculators or reliance on information provided on this website. Users assume full responsibility for the use of any calculations produced.

5. Invoices and Quotes Made With Our Tools

Our Invoice and Quote Maker builds a PDF in your browser. AusCalc never sends, hosts, stores or receives invoices, and never takes payment for anyone. The person who makes an invoice is responsible for its details, including their ABN, GST and whether it meets the ATO’s tax invoice rules. If you receive an invoice made with our tools, check the business’s ABN at abr.business.gov.au before you pay. AusCalc is not a party to any invoice and is not liable for invoices made with its tools.

6. Finance Referrals

Our finance calculators show general estimates only. If you ask to be contacted about finance, we pass your details to a licensed broker we work with and may be paid a referral fee. AusCalc is not a credit provider, a broker or a credit assistance provider, and gives no credit advice. Any finance offer comes from the broker or lender, under their own terms.

7. AusCalc Pro: Billing, Cancelling and Refunds

  • Price and billing: AusCalc Pro is $12 a month including GST, charged through PayPal on the same day each month until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time: from your account page in one click, with no fee. Pro stays on until the end of the month you paid for, then your account returns to the free plan.
  • Bought it by accident or changed your mind? Ask within 7 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. This applies once per customer.
  • Charged in error: if you are charged twice, or charged after you cancelled, we refund the extra payment in full.
  • If Pro does not work: if a Pro feature fails and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we refund the affected period.
  • Otherwise: after the first 7 days we do not refund part months when you cancel because you changed your mind.
  • Price changes: we email you at least 30 days before any price change, so you can cancel first.
  • A problem with a payment? Please contact us before opening a PayPal dispute. We aim to reply within 2 business days, and refunds go back to the PayPal account or card you paid with.
  • Misuse: we may close an account used to break the law or abuse the service, and refund any unused part of the month.
  • Tax invoices: PayPal emails a receipt for every payment. For a tax invoice showing our ABN and the GST, contact us.
